Dimitri Taylor - Lighting Designer - Stage Hand - Master Electrician - Programmer
Dimitri is a Senior Design & Technology option with a focus in lighting engineering. After gaining experience in the field from Bethel University as an employee for the auditorium, he realized that this was the path for this. He has worked on many productions at Bethel University including assistant lighting designer and master electrician for Wizard of Oz, Music Man, and others. Taking design work opportunities from places like Muncie Civic Theater and Creative Grounds Fine Arts Theater, as well as doing rigging and set load ins for concert productions, Dimitri is acquiring the skills and knowledge.
Upon transferring into Ball State in 2020, he is now getting firsthand education and experience as a lighting designer. While only working on a couple of productions at Ball State, such as the cave shows, Twelfth Night Murder (assistant master electrician) and Roe(assistant lighting designer), Dimitri has had the opportunity to further his career as an artist and acquire new skills with every production
As a former performance major, Dimitri loves to play piano in his spare time. He enjoys the inspiration and emotions that the arts bring out and wants to create that within his designing. He wants his work ethic to describe his personality while doing it in a way that promotes love and encouragement as a member of the LGBTQ community.
